As required by French law, legal fees are fixed by mutual agreement according to, among other issues: custom, the client’s financial standing and the difficulty of the case.
Three types of fee arrangements are possible:
Hourly Rate
Hourly rate is the most common fee arrangement. The client will be charged for each hour worked on the case.
Fixed Fees
Sometimes, in simple cases, a client can be proposed a fixed fee.
Conditional Fee Agreement
In some circumstances, from the beginning it is possible to foresee, in addition to the hourly rate, supplementary fees depending on the outcome of the case.
